Hi again E30 V8 friends,

I was wondering if you could clarify something for me please? I now have the engine, trans and drivetrain removed from my E30. Discovered a little bit of rust on the bulkhead so that's next on the agenda. However I need to get my engine mounts on order now. I have an E34 540 6 speed manual as a donor car. I will be using the 6 speed box. What engine mounts should I order? I want the engine to sit square. I am prepared to cut the floor/bulkhead if needed (I understand this is a must with the 6 speed-if anyone could confirm that that would be a bonus!) I have read of people using spacers on the front subframe to clear the steering rack? Is this correct or mandatory? Or will an E36 rack be required or both? Any help as always would be very welcome! Thanks all,
glenn

the v8 six cogger will fit without any bulkhead or floor cutting at all, but you'll need to make / modify the gearbox cross-member.
i'm not sure if you'll need subframe spacers with the mounts you order. i made my own engine mounts, that way i could put the engine exactly where i wanted it.
i didn't need spacers then, as i trimmed a little off the rack mounting tabs,
and got the sump to rack clearence down to around 10mm.
hope this helps :D

I used 20mm subframe spacers. Very easy to have made, these do make life a little easier.
300.de or copies from the chap on here for engine mounts along with stock e34 540 rubber mounts for good damping and engine positioning
