So car drove fine for about a 15 min drive then i stopped for less than 5 mins turned engine off but upon restarting the car would barely move no matter how much i put my foot down, limped for a bit then it suddenly came back to life after about a mile of not getting above 10mph after that i could feel it loosing power and regaining it again any ideas ?
Not sure if anythng to do with it but i could hear a Belt squeeking as power was lost ? Having cam belt and water pump done tommorow so will be on a ramp if theres anything that can be looked at while there ?
I love a story sorry lol

I think he has a 320i cab.
Check the usual culprits - dodgy engine-to-body earth strap, worn spark plugs/rotor arm/distributor cap, blocked fuel filter, etc.
Also check that the throttle pedal actually opens the throttle body when depressed - the cable may have stretched!

So while on the ramp allot has been discovered
Ive just bought the car with 11 months mot and weve found the brake and fuel pipes heavily corroded, ns and os steering rack gaitor split, front arb link needs replacing, abs wire cut... It goes on
So now ive had to report the test centre to vosa and its having a re test and going from there

They will get away with it as its been 1 month since test, the car could have been in Scotland for a month hence all the rust and corroded pipes lol

There are plenty of decent E30s around, take your time, & you'll find one.

Old cars are a learning curve, and yours has started quiet steeply.
You probably know more about an e30 in 2 weeks than some learnt in 2 years.
