Road traffic Collision with POLICE!
Moderator: martauto
Yess Grrrmachine I understand you, and yes thats what happened. As my car was only partially in the hashings, however when she oulled out into the hashings fully, i had to swerve into the the oncoming lane which also means i had to take full position into the hashing to try and avoid a possible head on collision.
Fortunatly for me I am the one with the pictures and video footage of her car. Thats why i have put my name on some of the pictures to prove i took them. I will be contacting my insurance company, and Doctor today. I had rubbish night sleep, I have loss of appetite its just disheartening. There is a police investigation which i am a part of as witness, i shall be pulling out of that as they have no disregard or care for the public, in my opinion. Also I can be petty and childish and use the racism card if i wish.
The fact that it happened to the E30 hurts me alot it was my dream car and i look forward to drive it on the weekend, my dad of course is the main driver i have another vehicle which i use as my daily.

If the hatchings are there to turn right into the cop shop, then technically, you were on her side of the road... Though she entered them right on the junction, FAR before she needed to be in them. If the hatchingp are on YOUR side of the road, them she has no leg to stand on.
Currently slumming it in an E46 Touring

If she is going to be a c*nt and not go anywhere other than stealers for a quote, then fuck it. Didn't read that officers didn't actually witness, fight this one at least you will be guaranteed a split blame.

As Dan pointed out, there is a right turn division with SOLID lines which must not be crossed and thats what the police will push with!
Sorry to hear your troubles.

Haha thanks guys the support means alot... Haha being pulled over each week, I was pulled over once with a Maglite in my car. I just explained I needed to see in the dark. She was on my side of the road and all though the police may dispute this I can always say I wanted to make turn into the shops on the right hand side couldn't I?
If you go through the insurance you will both be at fault.Best solution is to pay for her car repairing. She needs a couple of estimates from reputable bodyshops, all the balls about special paint is just that .Its not pearl or anything. As previously mentioned she may not have commuting on her policy so she may be panicking a bit.Dont be intimidated cos its the fuzz. She was doing wrong too

£90 ish from chips away and she is sorted. and you can just replace the bumper plastic corner no problem. If its £1000 repair to her car then go via insurance as your insurer will tear her apart, if a sand and blow over job, nothing more.

Similar happened to my sister, both parties at fault. However the view from the insurers I can imagine being similar here.
Even though she (in your case) was in the wrong by travelling in the hashed lines for longer then necessary, you were the cause and the first in a chain of events leading to the accident. If you had waited in the traffic it would not have happened.
Its unfortunate, I would just try and work a amicable solution to the repairs. Ask if you can have a qoute from a garage of your choice aswell as hers

Just wonderful!!!dsiingh wrote:Also I can be petty and childish and use the racism card if i wish.

Don't think Nobby's wise words can be bettered! I was starting to feel a bit of sympathy for you, but after your comment it seems to have disappeared...

ive locked up before at 30-40 and made a big skiddy!
she thinks £1000 to repair that piece of sh*t? get the quote from seat and call them to confirm. even if it is £500 odd be better than to go through insurance and the silly cow filing whiplash claims!
if you go via insurance you will obv have a crash on your record whether she takes blame or not you will still have to declare it and it will bump up the price!

No no no I'm not saying I would use it. But loads of people have tried I'm not saying I would hence I said its petty and childish. It's just a cowards way out. I can drive a 1.6 not the hardest have been driving for 2years. I don't mean to offend anyone or anything.
She has told her insurance I have told mine there are mixed views. My insurance have said its most like both parties to be at fault. But we will see.
I have informed my insurance company now I let everyone know of the outcome.

And hers, one non fault accident removed from my latest policy would have dropped my quote by £100 !bmw9818 wrote:ive locked up before at 30-40 and made a big skiddy!

A £1000 to fix that piece of crap at a VAG main group, she'll be lucky !
If the insurance stood for a main dealer repair (which they won't) it would be so expensive they'd wright it off anyway.
You should have just laughed at her and told her she could pay for the damage to your car before her employers found out what a crap driver she is.

She rang me today but i missed her call I called her back.
She told me she doesnt need to speak to me now as the information which she needed she got from the police log. I wasnt even given the police log number. IS she allowed to access the police log?
