I am right in thinking that the 325i gearbox was different to the 325i Sport gearbox! But its only the ratio thats different! How much does it differ between the two?? Basically, if I had a Sport and put a non Sport box in what would change! Would it be slower or Faster?? For example, surely it dont make a big noticeable difference? Hope you can all shed some light on this matter!

Sport gearbox reduces the gap between 2nd and 3rd gear so in theory a Sport would be slightly quicker.

GearBox Ratios:

Normal 325i box:
1st = 3.83
2nd = 2.20
3rd = 1.40
4th = 1.00
5th = 0.81
Rev = 3.46

SportsBox:
1st = 3.35
2nd = 2.03
3rd = 1.36
4th = 1.00
5th = 0.81
Rev = 3.20

Top speed should be the same, but the sportsbox should get you there quicker !

From what I've gathered you can't really tell the difference in real life no.

Though it's not a hugely difficult thing to change so if after your conversion you decide a Sport box would be better you can get one then :wink:

:lol:

If you came down to Aylesbury I'd give you a hand.

I'm sure my 318i cab would beat your 327i anyway - red cars go faster :cool:
