Hi, following my previous post, I repainted the entire roof as the last owner did a piss poor job, ripped the old seal off with the sunroof intact, painted roof all ok....... When I went to refit the seal and buggered up the sunroof. What I thought was a buggered plastic runner is now upon removal a knackard piece on both sides where the cables run through.
Have looked at the wiki pages which were very helpful on removing the lid but my propylene now is how is the cable detached to get the broken roller off? Car is facelift 2 door with manual sunroof by aim is to get it working as was! Thanks in advance....... Bloody cars
More sunroof issues......

Cable is held by a small bolt at the 'other' end of the cable guides....so assuming you are playing with a saloon,I would guess that the headlining has to come down.
I have only done this job on a touring, which has a 'tray' type headliner, never tackled a saloon headling, sorry. The bolt in question is close to the 'foot hook',if that helps you find it!

About halfway along the front window...but above it,of course.
The sunroof guides fit across the front of the roof, with their ends curving back along the sides.

I did take some sunroof parts from a breaker, saw the bolts you mean but how is the inner cable removed? Can it be cut and a new crimp put on in a similar way to push bike brakes? Couldn't see how to seperare the outer cable from the inner or how to remove from the car itself...... This was a pre facelift saloon and looked the same as my facelift type.........my.sunroof is just resting by the seal in its cut out hope it doesn't rain! (Car is SORN but outside)

The parts I need are still on the breaker as I couldn't remove them from the cable. The breaking car was a pre facelift.
