Dont see where you are going with this, you said in the original thread you had a 2.8 (euro) M52 with M3 cams M50 manifold and bbtb, then said it was getting remapped to 250-260hp, i said you'd be lucky to see 235hp
Is that right?

Why do you care so much about the power figures?rich318i wrote:m52 (standard) with m50 manifold was just said you get 220 how to real world is that???maxfield wrote:Between 220-230hp.rich318i wrote: + S52 cams figure please non-remap

I've recently seen an M52 with an M50 inlet and it made under 210, admitted it wasn't the best 2.8 but wasn't bad. That was on a fairly accurate dyno.
On a good day with all your mods I think it would just about make 230hp.

A good M52 2.8
M50 inlet
BBTB
S52 cams
A decent exhaust, not something which has been chucked together

That reply was to the comment you've just deleted.
And that was just a 2.8 with an M50 inlet. That was in an E36 with a standard exhaust

You said you would easily get 250 - 260 bhp with the mods you had.rich318i wrote:noooo!!! said i was told (WAS TOLD) i can get 250-260leeparkes wrote:Dont see where you are going with this, you said in the original thread you had a 2.8 (euro) M52 with M3 cams M50 manifold and bbtb, then said it was getting remapped to 250-260hp, i said you'd be lucky to see 235hp

Magpie, I think the figure of 210bhp that Jamie got is reasonable with the M50 inlet. M50 inlet and Btb exhaust is good for 225bhp

IIRC, the US S52 makes 240bhp. The S52B32 (with the fabled S52 cams) uses M52 head, inlet, TB etc etc and may make upto 260bhp once fitted with the M50 inlet etc etc.
The US S50B30 also uses the M52 head but M50 inlet and TB as standard - it also makes 240bhp.
I'd say 235bhp (as mentioned in the deleted thread) is a good shout for an M52 (in good condition) with the listed mods when its 400cc down on essentially the same engine that may make the mentioned 250-260bhp figure with the same mods.
