Hi Zoners,

I have read up a fair bit on the bbtb for the 325's however never come across such insall on a e30 m42.

Are there any aval for the m42 ?

What are the advantages?

would anythign esle need to be changed or is thi just a straight swap with origional one?

Has anybody tried this before and most importantly what are the costs in pounds?

cheers Jono 8)

Better throttle response. Maybe a couple of bhp.

Would work best in conjunction with other mods, cams/chip

All i would like is a bit more off the line speed and a good mid range and for it to be a tad more punchy:

they are nice engines for 4 pots but not having the extra 2 cylinders really seem to let the old girl down a little.

i am not nothered for top end speeds as i do not exceed 90mph.

They're not great of the line tbh and midrange is not this engines forte. They have too little torque.

They are happier at top end revs therefore great on the track but a bit hooligan to get the most out of on the road.

You could play with the cam timing to bring the power band lower in the rev range but you will just loose the top end.

I've got an evolve chip in mine and it makes a nice difference. I'm not sure if they do them anymore though.
