chip serial number location and earthing help!

hi zoners,
i need to get serial number of chip to give to ant so he can send me a zone chip. i have got silver box off of underside of driver consul and theres a serial number on the box. is this the on i need or do i need to open the box and actualy phsicaly remove the chip to get serial number?
if so do i need to be eathed for this job?

cheers dude took it all apart now, job done and its back on the car, ill have to check weather the number on outside of silver box matches, may save a bit of greiff for someone else.

hopefully, ant says he is gonna dispatch it on monay so if its here for wednesday, it will be test out time!
