e30topless wrote:strange how most members of the zone frown upon Gaydon ? but then santapod, another of the e30 zone's largest meets has been quickly dwindling in numbers over the last few years...

there has been no team support/gazebo/banners etc. from any of the E30zone team members at either show for a few years now,
it seems their interest is usually in some show way down south, very sad really when the zone has lots of members as far north as the top of scotland :D

I like it and will be there :)
agree, agree and agree!
considering how few big BMW meets there are in the season, i think it shows us in a pretty poor light.
i really don't understand what there is not to like. yes, some chavved-up cars but also some totally originals. plenty of amazing beemers, good museum (free), clean washrooms, good spares/autojumble........

The band were probably the only negative on the day, the soloist before was pretty good, so the gesture of live entertainment and the organisation behind the show was pretty damn good.
Nice to see you at the the show Jon and it was lovely to meet the wife. That was a superb display of e30's we were involved with and the chavved up and generally ruined were quite conveniently hidden some where out of sight! :D
Oh yeah and it was that hot I've got sunburnt

I agree mate all things considered it was a very good show and i think these shows do need some sort of entertainment but that was enough to scare animals away

Decent show came quite early. Was not going to bother washing my car as was covered in dead bugs. But everyone else was so in the end I did.

Went to BMW Park Lane stand enjoyed chatting to all the staff. Even got myself a BMW Park Lane key fob :-). Some cracking motors there the E21 320, E23 733i with only 48k 1979. And used to live in a garage with marble floor! The E30 323i for sale original Park Lane car what a cracker.

Loved the Tech1 with S54.

So many cars to see. You get in one little convo with an owner and it goes on forever and keen to tell me everything about his car. I swear the all original Z3 M Coupe S54 Black was trying to sell me his car! Some real paedos including E30 316 owner with 48k miles owned from
New from 1983 from Trainer. My God. Though I admire their dedication alot.

Funny enough on the M3 Cutters / Total M cars I could only see two original looking E46 M3s

Did anyone clock the amount of bruvs there.

For some reason I enjoyed last year's show more I don't know why. . Last year I came quite late. This year early. I left about 3:30pm this time. Fantastic drive up only took me about an hour average speed 105mph. Boring drive back with lots of congestion on motorways.

Rock music was little loud. Solo singer was good. But all in all was decent. Though unless I am mistaken I noticed a lack of models of ....

Lots of scum walking round, one asked me if my car was still insured as a 316 and was overly interested in what springs were fitted
It seems every man and his dog has an E46 now, im sure I spotted at least 3 sets of eastern european number plates too :D

Loved the Tech1 with S54.

Cheers! As its not finnished yet i was not confident on having it displayed on bmw's stand,
but they pratically insisted i bring it along ( as a customer for 20+ yrs). They want to promote the fact they are actively supplying parts (as with mine),and doing restoration works on the older models (at reduced rates) to the highest standars, giving customers peace of mind their cars will be well treated!

All in all it was a good day out with some cracking motors on show

My first time at Gaydon, my tech 1 was in the E30 display although not in great nick (due to the continued restoration) it was good to be part of it.

And some great other BM's on display, just a shame there weren't more trade stands to browse.
