i can still see the display biut it is very feint but the limit and timer red lights works...

i have taken it out but it has a few lights, one is in the middle and one is taken out from the side which has two small bulbs but dont think they can be replaced...

middle bulb just back-lights the buttons - the 2 small bulbs in the white light-bar do the display. You can replace them - get a soldering iron!

of course you can! Never let it be said that BMW don't supply every possible little part, even for a car that stopped it's run 13 years ago - 20 GBP to you sir.

Ive just changed mine, BMW wanted over Ԛ£23 which I refused to pay (bloody rip off). So I went down to Maplin with the part, told him I needed a couple of 6v bulbs, he tested the bulbs in there and informed me that only 1 needed replacing.
The bulbs cost 34pence each so I got a few and after about 10 mins of playing with a soldering iron (im all thumbs!), got the bulb in there, went out to the car, tested it and it works fine.

There is really no need to pay the BMW price for the bulbs.
