Right, I'm fed up of my CL, yes CL is great and all but putting the key in all the time? Urgh annoying!
So, does anyone have any idea how easy/hard it is to install an RCL unit to the Cabs?
I'm after radio RCL and not IR RCL I'd also like the fob to not be a horrible piece of turd and be at least slightly stylish. I know some units come with the button on the key and a blank blade, this could work for me really as I have an immobiliser fob so don't really want 2 fobs.
Another option I know is/was available for more modern cars is the flipkey style like Audis have, I'm unsure of that type of fob but again, being intergrated with the key could be handy.
I'd also appreciate links / models of RCL that people have for their cars, with pics of the fobs etc. if possible.

I have had a look on ebay, lots include indicator flashing, beepers/horns and all sorts of extra rubbish I have no interest in. Which is annoying but I guess you don't have to wire all of the extras in so it isn't too big a deal.
One thing I did notice on one is that their install instructions are just basic wiring diagrams as they are fairly generic, hence wondering if others have done it and what they used. I'll have a hunt for his posts about it though, cheers.

I bought one on Ebay for £8.72 delivered from Hong Kong, installed it in about 3/4hr, most of that stripping the speaker out, getting at the module and reassembly. Only had 4 wires to deal with, power, earth, lock and unlock.

It's even cheaper now...

Does have a wire to flash indicators, but only one, so I ended up finding a 2-pole relay in the garage to flash both sides, but if you don't want it, don't wire it.
Had mine over 6 months now, no problems at all.

It was an option iirc from the wiki, although a lot seem to have it.paul13899 wrote:Is CL standard on the e30? Either mine hasnt got it or it's just broken. Central locking would be cool
Yeah, after finding some posts by Brian I found this link: http://www.rclick.co.uk/index.php?cPath=50diable wrote:RightClick was the company.

Look at the other stuff they have for sale.
I don't need the actuators etc. as the car has CL anyway so the cost is slightly lower thank your link.
You wouldn't happen to remember the place / have a link would you? All of the ones I've seen on ebay require lots of wiring and are like £25.Gortour wrote:I bought one on Ebay for £8.72 delivered from Hong Kong, installed it in about 3/4hr, most of that stripping the speaker out, getting at the module and reassembly. Yeah, I quite like the look of these:
http://www.rclick.co.uk/product_info.ph ... ts_id=1112
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/370448210613
As it means I just have the fob with the key incorporated due to the immobiliser system on the car currently (don't really want 2 fobs AND a key).
The downside with these ones is they have the boot release button, something the E30 doesn't have which seems a bit pointless and annoying.
The other style / option really is this type:

The box in the car under the speaker has 2 wires you're interested in, yellow/blue to lock, green/blue to unlock.
The box (if you get the one I had) will give you the option of 12v or 0v switching, you need the 0v.

Do note that without an expensive unit, you won't get deadlocks, but it will lock and unlock the car.
