How do you pronounce 'either'? I say 'either', but some say 'either'. Either is correct.

LoL, there's probably less chance of mechanical failure on a track day than battering it up the 1/4 mile stripDanThe wrote:What car Kos?

Im good thanks Ant, this wont be going on a race track, ive thought about beefing up the driveshafts but in reality I suppose its better to break a CV than the diff, so I think its a good 'fuseable link' in a way.e30-dk wrote:you would have to be out of your feckin mind to track this motor.!!!![]()

not that you would Dan.
how are you anyways mate?
The car has done well over 100 1/4 mile runs so its well tested, the CV breaking was just one of those things that hopefully wont be happening too often!

ok Dan be honest now, out of those 100 1/4 sprints, how many were on the A449 Stafford road ??
Start saving drive shafts, I think they will become hard to find before long in good condition.magpie wrote:i've got some play from the drive shafts before the hubs turn, are the cv's on the way out ?
Would Auto's have had an easier life??

Not been near the car for probably the longest time since ive owned it just lately, it was probably October last year when it was used last, so I thought it was about time it came out of the garage.
Straight to the MOT station for a new ticket, then down to the workshop for some pre planned work.
Id got hold of a genuine replacement fuel tank over the winter, still had the supplying dealer sticker on it dated 2003 and came with a just as new fuel pump
I did have pics of the before but I dont seem to now..
But anyway, it wasnt the usual rusty as foook E30 tank, but being a pervert I decided to get it sandblasted and powdercoated anyway
Pic of just before it went up into the hole after a big ol brushing of waxoil

I also changed the filler neck for one that had been blasted/coated while I was on, as the tank, there was nothing wrong with the original but its a worthwhile job

I did find some rust too!

But thankfully not in here

All back together

And onto this morning where I had a very strange *cough* a very nice man
come round with a boot full of buffty gear, he set about the car like a man possessed and heroically educated me about the wrongs of my usual cleaning process!

Needless to say the car ended up 'proper mint' and is now ready for the 30th anniversary show at Gaydon on Sunday

Tax disc upside down, very council
But seriously, that car is lovely, very understated, which is how it should be.
Nice to hear from Dezzy again.
