Bleed screw/head gasket

right.. need to do my head gasket before I sell it.. Only problem is.... I've cracked the rocker cover, and The bleed screw is stripped. Will a pair of vise grips work? Or am I going to have to weld another nut on there?

How long should i budget for it?

Bleed screw on the rocker cover? Do you mean the one on the thermostat housing?
