I am having problems getting the water pump out of my m40 touring. When I used the bolts in the provided holes to push it away from the block, the ears that the holes are tapped into broke off the water pump. The thing wont budge at all. Anyone have any ideas?

Lots of wd40, hammer taps and wiggling. Failing that hammer and chisel to get the bugger off! My old 318 was a m40 once I smashed off the front the insides came off gradually before seizing again so hammer and chisel again. Hopefully the impeller will come off in one piece but use loads of wd40 or similar..... All the best!

There was the same problem very recently and some large water pump pliers/plumbers wrench and twisting was the key.
