First off a big thankyou to everyone who gave me advice on changing the control arm bushes. Job done.
Unfortunately It looks like my battery is on its last legs, can anyone advise me on what would be a good make of battery to use as I've been landed with some real shi*ters in the past!
Thanks in advance!

I had a Bosch silver until 3 days ago, I used to think that they were a good battery but at 2 years old mine has pegged it. It hasn't been sitting in a cold garage to discharge, it's been on my daily driver.
It's gradually lost its ability to deliver good power on cold mornings and when very cold hardly turns the engine over at all.
I now have a 66Ah Deta battery highly recommended by my local battery expert, even when cold it delivers a very healthy kick and my engine turns over much faster and starts instantly now. It cost me Ԛ£45.
Cheers,
Iain T

Bosch Silver
I've had one on my E30 for 3 years, used infrequently, stood for 2 weeks over xmas, holds excellent charge.
I have an older (6 years at least) Bosch on my 23 year old VW, and that holds excellent charge as well.
Templ8e30, I would have a check over your charging circuit, and also see if something is grounding out by seeing if there is any drain on the battery.
