That photobucket restriction is really starting to get on my t!ts.
Is there any other image hosting sites worth replacing it with?

I use a mix of imgur (for quick uploads from my phone), photobucket (for older pictures, rarely upload to it now) and my personal website for images.
In my log of work I use my personal site which gets hammered but is fine.
Imgur should be a decent replacement for photobucket though, I use it for all images when asking for help etc.

I've been told the image quality is better on flikr?
I'm not a photo buff so it wouldn't bother me as long as bandwidth wasn't restricted.

flickr is also a good one actually yeah, although I'm not sure on how easily they make linking / displaying images on forums, I have an account but haven't used it in years.

Photobucket has a handy app to upload pictures from your phone to the site. I assumed most would be the same. If not, I could't be bothered using a physical connection. I'm not a savage.

Imgur has an app and I'd assume Flickr does given how big it is.bab-91 wrote:Photobucket has a handy app to upload pictures from your phone to the site. I assumed most would be the same. If not, I could't be bothered using a physical connection. I'm not a savage.

So is Photobucket the only one with restrictions? Sounds like they could be shooting themselves in the foot.

I think imgur has a max limit on file size and total number of pictures, can't remember on bandwidth.
I have previously maxed out photobucket a few times on build type threads which is why I dumped it in favour of my own website's storage as the limits are so much higher. Equally though the amount of effort involved in a personal website are higher and there are costs involved which is all a bit excessive for photo sharing.
Might be an idea to read up on flickr, imgur, photobucket and imageshack, see what their limits are and go with the larger one (with a phone app) and have one or two as backups in case you reach the limit again.
I've also always found photobucket to be very slow to use which was another reason for moving away from them.

Cheers Final D. I'd need to sit down and look at the ones you have recommended!
I've not heard of them, shall look at them too!polsta wrote:Postimage.org , easy quick no nonsense
The zones front page was my breaking point. It just comes across as money grabbing or maybe I'm just a grumpy old sod.Jim320i wrote:Zone is having the same problem on he home page now![]()

I had the same with photobucket, ended up buying the extra bandwidth
To many pics on it and to many threads on to many forums with lots of pics in the threads.
Must check out some of the above mentioned.
Flickr used to or has a limit of 200images, anything after that it hides but they are still there. It's a pain though if you want to link more than one image.

Instead of paying photobucket for the extra storage why not just delete enough photos to bring it down a bit then open a different account?

I think most/all my photo's using the bandwidth are from my resto thread. Quite a few other threads using the pics. Once this resto is over it can die a slow death running out of bandwidth as often as it likes.

I use Flickr. Ace image quality and now 1 terrabyte free. Sharing is easy if you use Google Chrome as a browser, right click on image and select 'copy image url'. Can still do it with other browsers but a little more involved, need to view page source code then find and copy the url from there.
