electric windows,

ok so the current steed on my driveway has an electric window fault, before I go digging I wondered if anyone else had this?

after starting the car the windows won't operate until the door is opened, they work fine afterwards !!

yep had this on a 320i turd i fitted a 325i into .i think alex bought it and fixed the problem

the windows only worked with the door open .

I would check wiring in the door itself and also the plug connecter in the pillar. Also check your window switches as they may be oxidised

First thing I'd do is check fuse 17.
