Do fuel injector cleaners work like Redex and so on? and is it worth flushing the engine?
Had a little read and oil flushes are not really recommended but injector ones do clean the injectors out.
Anyone done any of the two before and what was the out come?
The engine cleaning myth's

No and no. IMO.
Ultrasonic cleaning works for injectors though.
I would advise against a engine flush, just go for regular oil and filter changes.

If you think it needs a bit of a de gunking then use a diesel spec oil for 1 oil change and see if it helps, the better diesel oils have a greater level of detergent in them.

I wouldn't bother with an engine flush, but I have done two oil changes close together if I don't know a cars history as you'll still have quite a bit of the old oil sat all around the engine after draining.
A dose of injector cleaner may help, but I've never seen anything more than anecdotal evidence that they work. I certainly wouldn't be adding reflex at every fill up like they suggest on the bottle.

Get injectortune on here to do the service on the injectors, I had mine done and it made a considerably difference in performance. The best £60 I spent.

It would be interesting to see pre and post Redex flow results for some old injectors.
Perhaps, freshly removed with say 150k miles on them, then after 1 redex treatment, then say 10 tanks of fuel with redex in every tank, then versus proper ultrasonic cleaning.
Maybe something someone can do with injectortune perhaps as a good marketing ploy
