my 325i cab started life as a 318 cab but ive been told all cabs have rear discs is this right? So would all rear hubs be the same for models with rear discs?

I need to replace one rear hub (2 bolts snapped in it!! :x :x ) and wanted to know if i could buy one off a 325 saloon/touring and fit it?

And is it easier/best to replace just the hub or the whole assembly including rear trailing arm etc?

yes all disk hubs are the same, all drum hubs are the same, two are not interchangable.

changing the hub would be easiest.

and yes all cabs should have rear disks.

ali cum salam (it is all phonetic anyway!)

not sure which is easier, probably to change the whole hub would be easy and to change the whole arm would also be easy (if you have the right tools and a place to do it!)

it is probably more work to remove the hub when compared to the whole arm so i would imagine thats why the scrap man wants to do that, its easier for him to remove.

if you are changing the arm then best bet would be to replace the bushes too, that would then really mean you should change the passenger side too, so that would be some work,

if its cheap buy the whole assembly, strip it down and decide!

good luck

and

sorry mate full of sh1t,

to seperate the hub from the drive shaft you will need torx sockets and a puller as it is press fitted into the hub.

so easiest to change the whole arm with driveshaft.
