Evening

Thought I would take the time to introduce myself and show everyone my BMW E30 325i Cabriolet with a Genuin Alpina Sport engine upgrade from factory. High lift Cam, upgraded ECU, larger Manifold etc

It was recently part exchanged in to my work and I just had to have it.

It is in absolutely superb condition and absolutely no rust and hopefully never will as she lives on my garage and only comes out on nice days.

She also benifits from factory the BMW BBS alloys 5 speed manual, power steering and all important LSD

Anyway abit on myself. I have always been on to my Honda's and have had too many to count but after selling my last I decided I wanted something a little special for the summer as I have a company car. Which is a Beautiful BMW 1 Series Msport

And now my BMW E30

I think it used to belong to a forum member many moons ago.

I then decided to give her a full service including cambelt and everything :-)

Image

After realising how nice this car is I decided to treat her to some goodies :-)

Anyway i belive i have something special and there's much more to come but she will be staying lets say OEM+.

Didn't get the car rolling roads when it was finished hut it was heavily modified and weighed nothing. I don't describe fast as in a straight line. I'm talking round a track. That civic was a very fast and alot of faster cars struggled.

Your cab is a prefacelift body, but being on a G plate it will have facelift running gear. Common for cabs as they were face lifted later than the saloons and tourings.

Barry's old car and he nearly bought it back recently. Great to see it getting the attention it deserves.

You would be wise to touch base with him (bss325i) as he knows this car well. Shame it's lost it's alpina exhaust during the last owners ownership but at least it still has all the rest.

Good to see it back on the zone.

Brill I will give him a message and touch base :-) thanks

Oh he knew what it was. He came on the zone a few times and he brought it to the old Guildford meets after Barry sold it to him.

Barry was in two minds as to buy it back or not. He travelled down to gosport and met the guy from the iow a couple of months back.

Always was a nice one this.

Long time back now. Barry may remember. Where you based. Saw one very similar in Redhill this afternoon. If it was you and you're from round here, you are very close to us both.

Ignore it Fiddy.

Where you getting your wheels done? Standard Silver?

I loved this car and if I didn't already have one (that I never see), this could have well been on my drive by now. :D

Noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!!!! Matt, this car needs to stay as it is. No tech one nonsense.

The original owner went for an expensive engineering solution rather than an expensive bolt on kit that does nothing for the car. The guy obviously had a brain and knew what he was doing. We should be kneeling in front of him shouting "we're not worthy!!!"

 :D

Your car but I'd leave as is matey. :D

This was sent to alpina before delivery to the first owner and had the "Alpina Sport package". This consists of an alpina high lift cam, Alpina ECU, exhaust and more :-) so more bhp believe 192

So did the owner go for a "base" Alpina??
Is this listed as an "Alpina"
Or a 325i????
I'm tryimg to learn here.
I thought all Alpina models had a kit and wheels included.

It's exactly the same mechanical spec as a c2.5.

They did 3 packages on the 325's

Alpina sport pack (which this has) which as Fiddy says, has the cam, ecu, manifold and exhaust system.
Alpina C2.5 which is mechanically the same engine tune wise but had the Alpina suspension aand the body kit, gearknob (on a manual) and steering wheel.
Then last but not least, the full fat C2 2.7 which had TD crank, head work, cam, ecu etc. etc. etc.

People always think Alpina was all about looks. They are not, It was all about the tuning packages first!

If we're talking about mine.

I work for BMW and have conformation from Alpina that they have all the paperwork and invoices for the upgrade. It is also stamped on the service book. And it has all the parts on it, bar the exhaust as the previous owner changed it.

But surely as car of this nature would require the owner ro change thw exhaust for an origional Alpina exhaust??
Or was the the previous owner what we call in the forums " A peniless wanabee"
Someone who wanted a rwputable car, but couldn't afford to look after it.
I think these sorts of cars should be kept in there otigional condition.
Do you have picture proof of the receipts then??
