Hi guys

I have a an early E30 that runs the primary and auxilliary fuel pump set up. My Auxilliary (pre-pump) is not running and I need to replace it. BMW want silly $$$ for one of these and I have had some silly quotes here in Australia. Can anyone suggest a good place to obtain a pump of this type?

Thanks

Can you show me what this looks like as I'm sure I have one boxed and pretty new looking in my garage, don't know what postage would be to oz though?

Is it an m10? Pumps are different on those than later cars.

What year and what engine would help....

My car is an 1984 323, with an M20. The engine is a 2.7L though. The later cars run a single pump in the tank.

I have emailed some photos to you E30BeemerLad

If it's any help, there's no problem fitting the later pump in the tank, and bypassing the old external pump position with a piece of high pressure hose.

This is the later type of pump, and come in two flavours - one pipe connection or two pipe.

That's the external pump of the older system. Think OP wants the other one.

Your first pump will fit OK, as long as it's got the right number of pipes on top.

Thanks for the help guys.

If the pump is second hand, I'm not sure if it will be worth your while to send it to OZ. 20 quid for postage is approx $50 AUD plus what you want on top, will make it a bit of a gamble on how long it may last.

Thanks again for taking the time to help me out :D.

Brian

Does the later pump fit in with no mods. Does it still have a provision for the sender unit that sits beside the original set up?

Thanks Beemerlad, but that equates to approx a the same price as a local breakers yard after conversion to AUD, and I'm not sure I want to go second hand gear. I track the car, so I don't want it to fail on the track and hence blow my entry fee.

Looks like I will have to smile whilst paying the BMW man the ransome

Thanks again
