Noticed a floor grommet in the rear footwell wasn't looking too good from underneath, so I've taken it out and just been to the dealers for a new one.

They reckon its part no 5 here:-

Part no 1967999, which is listed as 158mm dia, but mine's only 145mm dia.

Anyone any idea if this is the correct part? There was a thread about this a while ago, but just can't find it.

Thanks.

41128200462 is the part number you need. I'm fairly sure 145mm is the hole diameter, and 158mm is the plate diameter, since it has a lip to hold it in place.

Part #5 comes in three sizes. Order yourself a 1967999, and you'll have a nice spare cover for the LH fuel tank hatch.
If BMW employed their parts staff for their brains, they would have noticed that there's only one of this part on the car, so it can't be that!

Thanks for the info guys.

Before I posted, I checked on BMW Fans for part numbers based on a 325 and it only showed 1 size for part 5 - 1967999 @158mm diameter - the same as the dealers. I've just checked RealOEM and it says the same.

Something's not right though - RealOEM also shows three different diameters for a same build date 318is, just as Brian says, including 41128200462, which I'll order.

Cheers

You're right! You seem to have uncovered a mistake in the ETK, applicable to 325i saloons only.
Could explain some of the ongoing confusion about this part that regularly crops up on here.

Bear in mind that 'seam sealer' covers a wide range of products that arrive in cartridge gun friendly form.
They include silicone, polyurethene and mastic. It is important that you choose the correct type for the job in hand.Mastic, for example, remains soft and plyable long after it has been applyed, but will provide a waterproof, flexible seal.Ployurethene,on the other hand, will form a solid, but flexible seal and will be a good gap-filler.Silicone tends to be thought of as a glue, but things built with silicone have a nasty habit of sliding apart and the product it's self can form strings that hang like snot from bearing shells...
