Hello. I'm Andrew and I quite like "stance" and all that lot.

I've had two e30s - seen together in the image below. I sold the first one in 2011 and it was the biggest mistake I made, so the black one shall never be sold!!

Image

They were both 320i Tourings. So very smooth, but a bit gutless. First port of call - b25 swap. My first ever engine swap!

Going under the knife:
Image

These turned up:

Then some other things happened - camber top mounts, gaz RPM coilovers, some re-fitting of parts.

Image

Then Monday MOT was achieved - first drive since January 2012!

Image

Going to tidy and clean her up over the next few weeks, ready to take to some shows in the second half of the year - retro rides gathering etc.

Hehe... MOT spec! It made it onto the ramp and off again no problem with that ride height.

I went to "Japfest 2" at Donington this weekend - managed to infiltrate it with the E30 :D

Thanks. I'm going to "Stancism" next weekend, and the arch gap will be gone before then.

The Grid V's are 8", ET0 all around. Rears have 195 width tyres, fronts 175. I have a 10mm spacer up front to clear the calipers - does the job just fine :)

I love these wheels on MX5s too - I'm very tempted by Mk1 MX5's at the moment...

Rolling arches is this weekend's #1 job. I'm determined to roll, but not flare!

Went to a show in Essex last weekend at Battlesbridge. Was good fun.

Image

Took part in a "car limbo" - we came in at 49", which I was pretty proud of! The winner was 44", an mx5 of course.

Image

Also I've decided I really don't like the front tyres - they are far too stretched, meaning I can't tuck them up to the arches. Next payday they are going 10mm wider.

Nice, I have just got my first E30 and it's a touring. Those wheels look good, just trying to work out what to get myself but is a little tricky not knowing what will fit and what wont. I don't want to be rolling arches etc really.

Should have had different classes for the limbo, kind of cheating putting the mx5 against yer bavarian beauty :)

Ahh awesome! Thanks very much!

I had a good look at both your cars - you might have cost me a bit of cash though! My girlfriend saw your E30 and decided she wants a set of mims now...

The E23 was very cool, that uber beige interior looks like a very comfortable place to be!

Sorry if ive missed it but whats the diameter of the Rota's?

And also you state your on coilovers. Are you running insert struts or converted to proper coilovers?

How much adjustment have you got left on them as I have just purchased an e30 touring and I plan on going properly low, like zero arch gap on 17's.

Car looks sweet btw, good combo with the modern rota's :)

Thanks.

The coilovers are Gaz GHAs, which are proper coilover conversions - not the Rally Design weld on stuff, or the eBay cheap ones.

They will sit on the floor at the front before they are would down fully. But don't expect a comfy ride out of them!

The Rotas are 15x8, et0. But the fronts have a 10mm spacer on them, which pushes them out too far. If you want to go LOW, don't go over 16" on the wheels. You'll be in the top of the arch wells before you get the chassis close to the ground.

Sadly not. There has been a delay at the powder coater, and now they won't be ready for Players Show this weekend. Bit gutted. :(

The Instagram link was only a nice video of my speedo failing. It's fully stopped working now.

Steelies finally arrived - and they're on!! Note for any future BMW Mini steel banders - e30s need a 3mm spacer to clear the caliper. I had to go to Halfrauds and buy some badman Ripspeed spacers!

Bit annoyed - 3 of them have pinholes in the welds. Going to see if I can get them welded up properly, rather than running seam sealant along the welds.

Specs are:
15x8j et3 (et0 with spacer), 195/50 15
15x8.5j et -8, 205/50 15
