Ive had a search and cannot seem to find one. I had a 2001 Golf GT TDI and was a member of a MK4 golf forum and they had a "cheap" mod sticky thing the limit was £100 and many of them were DIY jobs that subtly improved the looks of the car. Is there anything similar here that Ive missed or can we start one?
I know a lot of you guys are factory standard or bust but I've just ordered some sticky back yellow vinyl for my fog lights as I'm unsure I want to keep them yellow at a cost of £1.90 inc P&P. Will post pics when I get the car and complete the word
Now pictures are always better obviously as are links and walk through guides if applicable.
Ben.

100 quid can do wonders to tart up a Mk IV Golf. It's easily enough to buy a gallon of petrol and a box of matches.
This is because Golfs, all of them, are cheaply cobbled-together plastic and scrap for Hans the estate agent from Duisberg to take his Brunhilda to Aldi for the weekend shopping trip. They are not BMWs.
100 quid on an E30 might pay for one of the rust spots to be removed, but there's never just one...

You can fit a can of juice perfectly in the driver side corner of the space behind the ashtray. Wedge it in at an angle. It doesn't spill with spirited driving.
That was free.

I like this idea, it wasn't just a golf forum they do it on the MKIV supra forum as well, it can be something as simple as fitting an aux lead if you have an uprated stereo or dying carpets, even a handheld sander for restoration!Topblag wrote:You can fit a can of juice perfectly in the driver side corner of the space behind the ashtray. Replace bonnet and boot badges for under a tenner off eBay.
Step 1. Buy bonnet and boot badges for under a tenner off eBay.
Step 2. Fit them.

Bosh, job done and you've still got a pocket full of shrapnel ;)
Sarcasm aside it depends what your car needs, you can stick on all sorts of cheap orrible looking nasty stuff from Halfords for less than a ton, question is, would you want to?

Halfrauds tat is a no no for me but a thread like this helps people that want to freshen up their car on the cheap. I'm sure you can give your car a good service for about £100?

You mean M42 throttle body heater delete? Tidies the mess of hoses under inlet manifold but nothing else.Benstanley wrote:What does this do?zaust wrote:Remove the hot water feed from your throttle body = Free.

Theoretically, eliminating the hot water feed from the inlet manifold gives a cooler charge of mixture into the engine, giving you an extra 1-2 bhp.
It's intended to prevent icing up of the inlet charge in extremely cold conditions, but not really necessary in this country.
