I have a 325i Sport engine fitted with a 6 branch exhaust manifold. Unfortunatley the manifold fouls the Oil filter I have been told elsewhere that i can rotate the oil filter mounting plate 180 degrees and have the filter facing forward.
Is this OK?
Or will the ports inside the housing no longer mate with the block correctly?

I have my oil filter rotated through 180 degrees as said in the first link.
It's been like that for about 4 or 5 months now and everything is normal, no leaks or low pressure.
Cheers,
Iain T
