Has anyone ever experienced a situation where the rear subframe moved lateraly.

The reason I ask is because on my E30 the one wheel sits slightly further out then the other. I know someone will say it is because of wheel offset , but in this case I measured both wheels to make sure it was not that.

So can the rear shift ??

It's located by the rubber beam bushes, and if these aren't in good order, the subframe wont be where it should be.
Bent trailing arms and their mounts are also quite common.
