So tackling this at some point this week - what's the best stuff for removing the old glue besides scraping?

Some sort of lighter fluid type stuff?

Cheers

Toyota own brand of brake cleaner, with the red lid.

Remove all the crumbly foam off by hand then use the brake cleaner and a plastic scraper to remove the glue residue.

if you not re painting the bonnet why not just stick the new foam over the old glue, i've seen it done many times and you would never tell the difference.

only reason glue needs removing is for a re spray

I'm with Pac, there's no need to remove all the old glue. The glue on the back of the new foam is the same so there'll be no reaction. Did mine like this a few years ago and it's still holding firm.

my foam came off when i left the old glue on it then left more glue on the bonnet, the best stuff to remove the glue is solvents,i used upvc window cleaning solvents and it came off very easily with no damage to the paint.

I pulled the foam off, soaked the glue in brake cleaner for 5 minutes and it scrapped straight off leaving no residue.
