With my LSD now fitted, for the time being at least, I've been drifting anywhere possible.

The improvements over my open diff are.....

1) Easier to provoke into a drift
2) 50% more controllable while drifting, more precise movement from the rear while drifting on throttle
3) Most importantly, from a safety and looking good (!) is the fact that when you want to come out of the drift, it is much easier and smoother, say at a roundabout exit.

Any other thoughts on this?

having never had an LSD on my car, (i've only had it 6days!) i'll trust what you say!
however the LSD is missing one vital piece of equipment - a police warning light! save you ever getting nicked for drifting hilst the police are behind you :D

Touchee.

Yes, bit dodgy really. Not recommended on the road.

I only do it on my private airfield.

yeah, must be the same airfield i use when testing the performance of my 320i above 3000rpm in 5th -you can spot these airfields easily-they have blue signs, and several lanes, and their name always starts with an M......... :nono:

Fitted a 3.64 LSD to my touring this weekend too, cruising is a joy with this ratio, best ratio for a 2.5 touring for sure!

Now where's that snow they've been on about?

The 3.91 is in my opinion perfect for 2nd gear drifting, I think the 3.64 would be very slightly too low, although I am willing to be proved wrong!

The 3.91 is a bit revvy on the motorway, however, it means you don't need to change down from fifth for a quick burst of acceleration.

Karan, LSD's are definatly one of the best features on any car!

I will watch the vids tomorrow mate  :)

Oh and the 2.5......hoping to have that in before the start of April. Over the easter holiday!

The fun of an LSD when youve spun up the wheels and your almost motionless but with the rear creating a bonfire! :burn:
