Good news! Swapped my heater box for an aircon unit this weekend, and it didn't come with a blower fan. I was a bit gutted since this part is $$$ from BMW and is, I thought, very hard to get hold of.

Turns out the Z3 uses the same heater box, and the blower is a perfect match for the E30. Picked up an aircon blower from a 1998 car, so it's ten years younger than the one in my motor, and it was only 30 quid.

So for anyone struggling to source a replacement for a binding or burnt-out blower (from lack of lubrication) then check your local scrappy for Z3s.

This may also mean that Z3s can be a primary donor of aircon kits for E30s, especially those with M5x conversions.

He's right! Both the aircon and non aircon motors have the same part number as the Z3 without/with aircon.

How about the e36 compact as the dash architecture and bulkhead are the same as the z3?
cheers,

ETK has a very useful function, included in the online versions, where you copy and paste a part number into a box, and it tells you every other BMW model this particular part is used on.
