Does anyone know how low the petrol gauge goes before the light comes on ?

Mine comes on when the needle is below red... Has done it in both of my e30's

Something like 7.5L. I think it says in the handbook

The book says 6ltrs....

My light comes on just as the needle is sitting on the last white after the red.
Pete don't care about colour, He would shag a rainbow if he could find the end of it....

Mine's just off the scale when the light comes on.

A gallon and a half is what you've got left so if you've got a 316i in theory you've got 60 miles left 8)

320i and mine comes on just after needle passes the line
obc says 5litres left or 46 to 50 kms

Thanks for all the replys, put my mind at ease. The lights just come on so now I know it works, the needle went through the red and just past the white line (I was starting to think the bulb had gone :clin: ) then came on. I'll fill the old girl up in the morning ! :wink:

60 miles is assuming 40mpg obviously.....should be easy in a 316i :?
