Help identifying dog leg box on 325 sport

Hi,my first post on here,I've just been and bought a car to help a mate get his track car finished,its a 1990 325 sport.

As far as I can make out and remember most looks standard

M tech kit

LSD

Cloth sports seats

Sunroof

The bit that baffles me is the dog leg gearbox,I can't remember ever driving one before except for an M3 I owned in 94.

Would anyone know if this was an option box or if it has been retro fitted

Dogleg gearboxes were NEVER factory fitted to a 325. A dogleg box could be retrofitted but would be a rather expensive and pointless exercise.
