Have they had my pants down?

I bought an e46 067 rack from an ebay breakers. i even asked before buying for them to double check the numbers 7852 974 679 and 6 755 067 and check for the purple plate.

Well it arrived today the rack itself is pretty dirty as expected but the purple plate is clean. (Not just wiped down, new looking) and the attaching rivets are split where they have been peened over.

I checked the body of the rack and one side has the number 7852 501 487 cast into it and on the other side 1 095 016

i think they have swapped the plate over but cant really prove it. i havnt yet contacted them and i expect them to deny it, so the best i can hope for is a refund but i will have the hassle of sending it back.

What should i do, give them the benefit of the doubt or openly accuse them of fraud?

Also does anyone know if this 016 rack is of any use on an e30.

Any E46 rack is a hell of a lot better than E36 racks, so unless youve paid a load for it I wouldnt worry.
Post some pics of the plate so we can have a look

Its more the principal of it. I thought some of the e46 racks were horribly light thats why i was after the 067 as its apparently nicely weighted.

Unless the numbers on the casting are for the casting itself and the internal gubbins are denoted on the plate. Anyone have an e46 rack to hand to see if their numbers match?

Cheers lads looks like i was jumping to conclusions. I just dont trust the ebay anymore
The plate is strangely immaculate though and the rivets peened over.
