The mapping side of things are spot on cant fault the mapping or the mapper :D

The injectors were only running at 85% of duty cycle,
it's not so much that they were "leaning out" they just wernt spraying like they should,
To be fair, I did send the duff one back to injectortune and they replaced it straight away, but upon fitting the replacement injector, another failed on the same day, so i pulled them all, but the damage had already been done.

I just think there were the weak link in the chain.
as it says on there website, they are Bosch "type"

I'v never heard or read about arp's stretching, but it's something i might look into

I would be surprised if the ARP's are stretching.

Good luck Craig, right kick in the balls. Seems very odd though, must have read 20 plus build threads of people using pretty much the same set up as you and no one having problems like these

ARP´s are not stretching at this point, maybe with a couple 100lbs more torque maybe if you where having det problems, but ARPs hold down 800lbs of torque as shown by the americans and swedish plenty of times.
With great challenges comes great engineering.

I think it's fixed :D :D

the gasket turned up on Saturday, and it looked like a quality one this time,
so much better condition than the last one,
also treated it to a shiny new radiator and waterpump because i wanted everything to be 110% when i turned the key,

I'll admit I was nervous as hell yesterday when it came to start it up and let it run up to temp
but in for a penny an all that

it started straight away,
let it sit on idle for about 20 minutes making sure the system was bled,
and everything looked good,
bled up lovely,
fan kicking in then going off,
and no ballooning pipes :D

so took it out for a little trip to the petrol station, the same one i tried to get to the last time when it overheated, but there was no drama's this time,

:woohoo:

and i'v just been out in it today, for a bit of a run,
had a bit of "town driving"
sitting in traffic,
dual carriage way fun which inc lots of boost :teehee:

and it's all absolutely spot on

I'll try

I'm also looking into fitting a secondary water pump, to run and flow the coolant for a few minutes when the engine is switched off,
because the fan only works with the ignition on and after it's been out
I dont really want it sitting there boiling it's arse off.

I was thinking, because the matrix exploded and i'v had to bypass it,
I could fit an extra pump in the hose that goes from the bottom of the radiator, under the inlet to back of the head and to the back of the waterpump...

Does anyone know which way the water flows?
I think it goes from the rear of the engine forward...?

It does go from the back of the head to the back of the waterpump, the expansion tank on the side of the radiator is just that
You can buy timer relays cheap enough, but if you have an alarm fitted that senses voltage drop it would set it off

A turbo timer would just keep it at normal operating temperature,
plus I wouldnt like walking away from the beast while it's still running.

I'm more thinking of cooling it down at a slow rate
with the aid of, like Dan suggested, a timed relay

so say once the engine is switched off,
the secondary pump and possibly if I can, the fan,
will kick in for... 5 minutes or there abouts

You could wire the temp switch, fan and electric pump to operate with and without the ignition on. That way you can leave the car and the fan will shut itself off once its reached the temp set by the switch.
Vauxhall used this set up on the V6 cavs and vectras to circulate the water after the car had been parked up, otherwise the rear head would cook itself, resulting in gasket and cracked head issues.

You could use the same relay for the fan and elec pump
