Have you checked the clutch fluid?

If you're losing fluid then one of your cylinders has probably failed. If you haven't noticed all the fluid pouring into your footwells, then it's probably the slave cylinder.

If you haven't moved the car, have a look underneath to see if you can see a puddle of fluid. If yes, the slave cylinder has gone. If nothing under the car, check around the clutch pedal. If the carpet is damp/oily then the master cylinder has gone.
Either way, its best practice to change both at the same time - the newer cylinder usually causes the older, weaker cylinder to fail fairly soon after.

Clutch slave fluid can leak into the box and leave no trace on the floor, as with mine
There are wiki articles on clutch cylinder changes if that helps. Also, I discovered thanks to the zone you can drive without a clutch in an emergency - not advisable long term
(Works in my 59 plate Fiesta too
)

There's a small slot, about an inch long, right at the bottom where the bell housing meets the engine. The escaped fluid should emerge from there.milescook wrote:Clutch slave fluid can leak into the box and leave no trace on the floor, as with mine
