howdy-for a while a 325i sport has been lying in a driveway local to me and have passed by several times thinking that it never moves and he might sell it!so..chapped the door and the man said it was his sons who got a company car in 2000 and just parked the e30 there with a view that he'll use it at weekends etc.
however,he showed me around the car which had the usual moss on the rubbers etc,but it has potential beneath the cobwebs, its a tech 2 in black with leather and 90k,and from what i could see just needed a seious clean up.the man also told me that it hasnt as much as turned a wheel in 5 or 6 years but had been started every couple of months.his son had moved away so i gave him my number and asked him to contact me if he wanted to sell her...sure enough he phoned and asked what i thought so without wanting to be disrespectful i said that should he decide a value and i would see if it was along the same lines as what i thought,,bearing in mind no mot or tax and not moving in 5 years.i set myself a budget of Ԛ£1500 hoping that it was similar to the owners valuation bearing in mind the work that may need done.
he then contacted me and said that he wanted Ԛ£3800 for it as it stands-am i the only one to think this is a tad ambitious?

he'd be lucky to get Ԛ£3800 on a good day, make an offer and explain that there are ones like his going for less Im sure there is just check autotrader plus no MOT or tax and not being moved for a while doesnt exactly do the car justice either, other than that find another one.

failing that Bootyman's Cab is going for around the Ԛ£4000 mark, I'd rather have that any day then some unused 325i with no tax or MOT not to mention the TLC that the car hasnt really recieved.Bob_S wrote:lmao he's living in a dream world you can pick up a VERY nice 325i sport for that money! just look whats avaliable here on the zone!

my thoughts were it would be worth Ԛ£3800 with all history and in every day use with complete mot and tax and sparklingly clean.i phoned him to discuss the price and now hes not bothered returning my call-that was 3 wks ago,jus hope no steamer gives him that ridiculous sum for a car the will most def need service, brakes, etc before even taking it to the mot station

I would struggle to pay Ԛ£1000 for that, standing for 5-6 years, not been moved, god knows what lurks beneath.....

according to the owner it 'runs fine' but his dad never had the keys when i was there, the car hadnt any noticeable rust on the exterior but i never got a great look at it-all i can say is its sat outside still for 5 scottish winters,no cover or nothing.at that money i'd be lookin for a 320is i think.

Scotch cars are very rusty where you cant see!
I would not even offer him Ԛ£1500 unless you can get the kit off and have a look in all the usual spots for rust.
