It's time to plan another Gorge Gathering I guess 8)
With the German show on the 21st July, I was thinking we could squeeze a meet in either before or after.

I'll put either the 14th or 28th of July forward as possible dates, although the 7th is an option but maybe a bit close??

I'll get the list started...

1. jmc330i (any of the above dates)
2.
3.

I can do the 14th as long as my car is back on the road by then, so I'm a maybe at the moment. I'm away on the 28th for my Dad's birthday.

That's a shame James. There will be something planned towards the end of Aug/ beginning of Sept, hopefully you can make that 8)

14th is good by me, I wanted to get my engine changed for the 21st, but I'm still waiting on parts, so I don't expect that will happen now.

I'm up for this again! Hopefully the car will be fixed next week, provided parts arrive / I can get the parts so any date should be doable.

Well the next one I organise, you are not allowed to turn up in an e30 :D

14th should be good for me. I'll see if I can get a convoy from this side of the bridge, well Brad and Chris anyway.

I'll try my best to be in my e30, but as usual with my car it is 1 step forward and 2 steps back at the moment!

Whats the plan with the Cheddar meets, a drive and a chat, or go for lunch somewhere as well?

Last one was basically, meet up in a car park, get told we'd have to pay so should move to another one, drive 100 yards up the road to another car park, stand about chatting, watching crazy people climb cliffs, then go home. Basically.

I got there early (by mistake) so had a good fun drive up and down the gorge being a nuisance to the animals. :P

I've just realised this clashes with something else so I'm not going to be able to make it. :(

Theres a Brewers Fayre just outside Cheddar, I think its at the Bristol Airport Premier Inn.
I'd be up for stopping off there for a drink or food after meeting at the Gorge.

I cant drive too far after my exploits today.... http://www.e30zone.net/modules.php?name ... highlight=

That sounds good to me, it would be nice to have a comfortable sit down, grub and a chat after meeting up.

That M40 of yours was a ticking time bomb 8O But oil with water in it doesn't lubricate too good. Hope this one is just a stop gap until M44 time :D

It's done 18 months of daily service, so I can't really complain. After the trip up to yours it was really going well (for an M40!). It's been the quickest it's been since Ive owned it - I should've known what was coming! Our Stock Car engines do exactly the same; they loosen right up and absolutely fly just before they pop.

And yup, its just a stop gap. Just collecting the last few bits for the conversion. A few gaskets and a clutch.... and a battery lead :D

What are you doing for a flywheel and clutch? Will the m20 items work on the m44 for a lightweight upgrade.

I'll bring that Battery lead with me next week shall I, you are not in a mad rush for it are you?

The M20 flywheel should work, but Im probably going to use the M40 one. Its quite a weight saving over the M44 DMF! I dont really want to get into lightened flywheels for my daily hack.

Yup, thats fine with the lead thanks :thumb: Ive got a bit of breathing space now Ive swapped the M40 (although the replacement sounds just as shagged! :( ), so I wont be fitting the M44 for a few weeks now :(

Stop off for a bit of food sounds good to me :) There's a few places to stop on the a38 if we get on there via Shipham if the Premier Inn is booked up. What sort of time shall we meet?

It's still in the balance whether I can bring the e30, as long as it doesn't fail on anything major on the MOT then I'll be bringing it :)

Given the weather it'll be quite busy I suspect. The topmost car park is gravel iirc and is the right sort of size for us to park up, but not as big as the last one.

I think this is the one that the guy trying to charge us was talking about:
http://goo.gl/maps/j1E0a

We'll have to see how it goes I guess, it should be fine if we have a similar turn out to last time but does depend on the public too.

Roof down all day for me I think...shame as it means you can see my tatty seats. :(
