I plugged the scanner in today and these are the codes I get, I dont think any are relavent

217 CAN: Timeout AGS/EGS
68 Tank Venting Valve: Electronic Fault
52 Exhaust Flap Solenoid Valve
100 ECU Selftest

These come straight back after clearing the codes, I dont think they are related to the power loss over 4000rpm but not sure if it is connected to the 217 code?

It was revving better today but coming up to 4000rpm and after the power seems to tail of, were I was expecting it to liven up? To be honest it doesnt feel any quicker to the M20 325i lump its replaced Mad

If anyone can shed some light on the problem, would be well apprieciated......

I think I may of worked out the problem? I fitted a cheap fuel pump from ebay a few months ago and with the old M20 engine when going fast around big roundabouts the engine would bog down.

With the M52 engine it also done this today as well as doing it in a straight line, so Im thinking it could be a weak pump?? Going to order a new one and let you know if this cures it.

Has anyone had a similar problem like this????

Another quicky

Does anyone who fit the M52 lump fit an uprated fuel pump? or is the standard e30 pump good enough for the job?

Cheers

Standard E30 pump every time, that will be your problem.
Those codes are nothing to worry about either 8)
