Should I keep or sell?

Evening all!

Baby number 1 arriving in November and I am trying to justify keeping the 330d touring sport.

53 plate 204bhp manual leather bluetooth cruise

I've owned her since Dec 2007 and 92,000 miles and now registering 182,000 miles

She has a full BMW service history with BMW having serviced and replaced everything bar a pair of front shocks.

She is still running original clutch, dual mass fly wheel, wishbones (amazingly!), injectors, turbo, fuel pump, rad, rear shocks, exhaust manifold, rear brakes.

Just had 181,000 mile service which was an inspection 1 plus wishbone lollipop bushes (3rd set in my ownership!) and front discs and pads (discs warped again) which have lasted 35,000 miles.

The clutch is rumbling a little more I suspect dual mass fly wheel and had another advisory on rear brake pipes.

Do I get the clutch done and keep her and cross fingers on all the above mentioned which haven't been replaced or do I let her go and trade up to a newer 3 or 5 series?

I am now finally consistently getting over 40mpg - fuel economy is steadily improving.

To me I think she is one of those "good" cars that could go on and achieve Audi 80 / Saab 900 mileage and yes I might get some more bills but depreciation on a newer car and not knowing how a newer secondhand car has been looked after is a risk!

Anyway, if you have read this far, what are your thoughts?

Ps E30 now at 181,500 miles and about to go for its 21st MOT! Seem to be spending less money on that at the moment!

Ps meant to say she also has navigation and Aux in the spec and I meant the rear brake pipes haven't been replaced. Any mods reading this thinking this is a cheeky advert fear not it is not. Thanks

Get underneath and clean up them brake pipes and rust treat the pipes and front and rear arches before rust takes hold and drive on. At 180k it is not worth a huge amount and is a pleasant tram.
Unless you are buying new, any thing you buy is probably just as likely to bite you in the 4rse repair wise. The devil you know and all that.

ideal baby tram no? I've just got a e46 for my missus and the baby.

Sounds a good car, my father in law has a 2006 330d manual saloon from new as his company car, then he bought it himself with about 150,000miles on it. this car has never had any turbos, injectors for engine dramas you hear about all the time.

He blanked off the swirl flaps.

I might buy it off him when hes done, its an awesome car 231bhp version of the e46 engine I think, M57 is it?

Ive got to agree with this...
its already an ideal car as Pete says stay with the devil you know..

My mate had an old Passat with 255k on it and it never missed a beat his wife talked him into a newer car and they had nothing but problems with the replacement!!
his old Passat still gets seen locally still on the road and now has over 300k on it and he kicks himself every time he sees it

My '04 330CD Manual is on 161K , No major dramas to report, just had ECU repaired but £220 is no huge cost imho.

Keep , Enjoy , Scrap when the time comes
