Do E30 really qualify as classic cars? Or are they classic if they are pre-1980?

to me classic is a car that is iconic of its period, an e30 is iconic (to me anyway) of the 80s and German engineering. so id say yes an e30 is definitely a classic :)

They are listed in the Practical Classics magazine price guide, and they have done a couple of features on them, so I would say they are definitely classics.

European countries identify a historic vehiocle as over 30yr old.

For many years in this country clubs have had a classic as over 25 years old, so many of the E30s do qualify as classic with the latter definition.

it was on the run, sounded pretty awesome. The term classic is a bit loose, basically it a group of car nuts who get together regularly. On sunday there was a 1925 Rolls Royce Silver Ghost, a 2013 Citroen DS3 and lots from pretty much every decade in between.

It's great to see such a diversity all together. Good way to spend a Sunday among well-cared for machines.
