Hi guys have just put a M52 into my Tech 1 325i Sport.
Bought a new battery this morning & attempted to start it up, turning the key to position 1 you can hear the fuel pump priming but when you turn it to position 2 to fire the car there's nothing!!
Can't be the EWS as not long had it deleted off the ECU from Danthe.
As far as I can tell everything's connected up correctly at the Battery Terminals.
Anybody out there experienced similar problems as it's now starting to do my head in, just wanting the car finished & on the road.

Have you checked the engine-to-body earth strap and DME relay?

Does it spin the starter?

It's a complete new earth strap that's attached from the engine support arm to turret earthing point.
No there's nothing from the engine when you attempt to start it, not even turning over.

Is it a DIY engine loom?

Then you need to check that a switched ignition +12V is reaching the starter solenoid when you turn the ignition switch; if not, there's probably a wiring fault somewhere between the ignition switch and the solenoid.

Right with abit of help from Spredtouch it looks like the problem lies with me converting it from an auto to manual.
Has anyone else dealt with bypassing the starter inhibitor switch to allow the car to start?

Have a look at that Steve about half way down the page.

Does sound like you haven't disconnect the auto wiring.
