don't know much about mechanics so if someone could explain whats happenned and if its game over i would appretiate it.
basically what happenned was i was accellerating down the hill in 3rd last night but not red lining or anything and it was fine but as soon as i slowed down after seeing a police car it had lost all of its drive and was really jumpy and didn't like going above 2k revs so i dropped everyone off and took it home where it really struggled to get up my hill, and i could hear a tapping coming from the rear underneith my car. so i called my mechanic this morning he said bring it down, i started my car it struggled to rev and stalled before i could even get to the end of my drive and wouldn't start again. so another call to my mechanic and he came and got it just got a call back saying the rocker has gone and and its going to be a big job cos they have to take the head off, just waiting to hear back on an estimate while they get some prices....
Apparently my rocker has gone.....

Oh dear ! its quite common and normally happens @ higher rpms so I guess you can call yourself lucky.. ish
depending on which rocker has broken you can swop them out in situ, wont save masses of labour Ԛ£Ã”šÃ‚£ but it all helps.

do you think it could be something they did wrong? because only a couple of days ago i had it serviced where they removed the rocker cover and adjusted the tappetts and refitted it with a new rocker cover gasket.
I don't expect them to have done a bodge job or anything because its my neighbour who does it, and hes always been brilliant with me doesn't charge me much and gets any problem sorted pretty quickly, but it does seem odd that just after getting it back it fucks up.

if the clearance was set tight the rocker could have failed as a result.
Its difficult to say though, there could have been a stress fracture already there from previous which only now showed itself as its all been "disturbed"
see what matey has to say on the subject.
