Thanks guys, I fitted the ECU this morning and cut out all the old alarm system. Filled up with power steering fluid also.
Got a small water leak and need to adjust the bottom hose as its catching on the threaded bolt where I should have a pipe clip fitted.
Took her for a spin, sounded mean as ****
Video up soon

Results were ok.

Just waiting for a coolant elbow hose to arrive and a washer bottle then it's MOT time

Done a few tweaks over the last few days. Did the wiring mod tonight to fit a wire between pin 87 of the DME relay and the red/yellow ABS supply. ABS now clicks quickly three times when the ignition is turned on. Also got the reversing lights working (by plugging the switch cable in) and a few other final bits. Coolant hoses amid washer bottle this weekend then it's MOT time and the turd will be the new daily driver whilst the tech1 is off the road for a while

Yer nearly done mate
Had a right good result at the scrappies today
Picked up an e34 washer bottle which with a few tweaks fitted well

And this nice rubber thingy to go over the throttle cable

And then found this VW air hose, don't worry you can't see the VW logo

Which with a bit if trimming fitted here really well

As you can see I'm still waiting for my alloy elbow to turn up, didn't find anything close to it in the scrappies so maybe next weekend she'll be done
Just chilling out side now waiting for a van load of m30 stuff which is coming down from Middlesbrough, should be here any minute.
Then off to pompy tomorrow with a team of crack zoners to get the new world record for a 318is engine change, should be fun !

Right o ,here is an update I'm dead happy to be writing
After what seemed like ages the old girl is ready for an MOT tomorrow.
I had 2 cylinders not firing, one was due to a damaged HT lead and the other, the fuel injector electrical pin had bent so it wasn't getting a voltage.
Anyway, all sorted and running really really well, I mean she pulls and pulls with a great sound track
So the MOT is tomorrow at 09:20
Fingers crossed

Yer I tried it in that upper hole, problem I have is I re-used the 318 cable which isn't quite long enough in that hole, I'll get a e34 cable next time I'm down the scrappies , thanks mate

Just done a few finishy off bit for the MOT tomorrow and gave it a good clean.
Did go for a little burn down the duel carriageway and the torque is just relentless, very very nice pull.
Do need to fit the 3.46 diff though as the 4.1 currently fitted uses the gears quite quick!
I'll get a video this weekend
To say I'm happy after all the work is an understatement, i'm flippin over the moon.

Turns out the M30 conversion is well received by the insurance people
not only was my premium only about £40 more with ALL mods declared but the agreed value went up by £3500 by doing the engine swap
The new agreed value is £6500 !!!
Well happy with that

My insurance nearly doubled when I put mine in! But I think that might have something to do with the rollcage and all the other mods I declared at the same time!
