Car makes a clicking noise when reversing, faster I go faster it clicks, thought it might be a wheel bearing but it makes no noise when going forwards - any ideas?
Incidentally if it is a wheel bearing how urgently would it need sorted, got a few jobs needing done and would rather put her in to get them all sorted in one - cheers
Click click click in reverse - Help please

I would hazard a guess that this is almost certainly some sort of physical obstruction caught somewhere. A bit like a stone caught in a heat sheild (although it's obviously not that, but along those lines) Have a good crawl around under the car (especially at the rear) and take the wheels off to look if necessary.
You may even find the remains of next door's cat.............
Failing that, jack up the back of the car and turn each wheel in turn, then both together ("with the help of an assistant"......to quote a well known book) 'feel' for your click and it should pinpoint the origins (possibly driveline)
I'd say a wheel bearing would make a noise (not usually a click though) in all directions.
Of course, you've checked for a stone in the tyre already........

have you recently had wheels off the car, fitted locking wheel nuts?
I had a crazy clicking on my car after replacing the handbrake shoes, it did it in both directions though. turned out to be the locking wheel nut on each wheel is slightly longer than the standard bolts, so it caught on the handbrake shoe, if you clicked the handbrake up a notch the noise went. it was cured by sticking the offending bolts on a grinder for a quick shave.
try pulling the handbrake up a notch when reversing to see if the click goes.
Just a suggestion
