hi, had my 316 chromie for a couple of years now, it has only got 53k on the clock, so the bodywork is in pretty mint condition. just getting a bit bored of how slow it is. i'm looking to get a full engine conversion with all the extra's like new diff, brakes etc. just need to know if anybody knows anybody that would do this and has all the parts to do it? plus what sort of money am i looking at? cheers

I have all the parts to put it to a 325i. Engine, gearbox, prop, looms, ecu etc.

PM me a number and we can chat.

Check out Joe318's thread of his 316 chrome bumper now running a 2.5.

I did not read about him caring about fuel cost. Going faster means a S54 supercharged 550bhp fo0king ass tearing ability.

For fuel economy I suggest you get rid if the E30 and buy a push bike cost of running should only be a couple eggs (preferably egg whites as we do not want to cause any fuel line blockage) and toast

Going faster, then M30 Turbo, pushes out 500hp+ alot cheaper then the S54, and is bulletproof.
And also, M30's are easier to come by.

An M30 seems a tad to heavy for an e30 in my oppnion after much reading i should say the best pond for pound achievable and fairly inexpensive conversion would be the M52 which also is a nwr engine that looks much better

Is the M30 not heavier then the S54?

The S54 is the heavier of the two but comes out on top in a power to weight calculation, the way the powaahh is delivered and looks too. The M30 is no slouch though! But one won't be catching me any time soon!! :D

True.
But looking into costings of turboing the both engines, The M30 looks the better for your pocket getting the same HP as the turbo'd S54.

s54 is what mine is having this winter, ive been driving my brothers e46 m3 and that engine in my e30 will be very nice and keeping the straight six smoothness will make it that bit more drivable

I definatly agree with you there, but from my own experience a well setup S54 in an E30 don't need a turbo. You have a problem either with your engine or yourself! Its a struggle to keep traction as a NA lump, and forget about spirited driving in poor conditions , i suppose that goes for any old BM though.
