E30 M3 vs F30 320D
Moderator: martauto
I was expecting the result to go the other way to be honest.
Hardly surprising that 27 years of progress means normal cars are as quick as old performance ones.
I expect you'd find the same comparing a standard 1993 rep mobile to a sporty car from the late 60s!

Pointless test and result.
It's an old car having a drag race, I don't see the point as the M3 was built for the bends of a track. Also it's only worth comparing with other cars of its age to see how different the M3 was.
Newer cars + a lot more technology And if I look again it still won the race.

You seem to like having a dig at the e30 m3 every chance you get.
Have you driven one yet?
Of course he hasn't, he's a Gutterz boy and is just bitter and twisted that his bruvmobile (he has a 56 plate BMW E46 M3 CS just in case anybody doesn't know !
gutterz forum is full of grade A weapons c0cks .
i offered that csl carbon airbox to those losers and got banned after telling one potless loser who offered £125 for it that he should keep his money for remoulds and happy meals .

Does show that torque isn't as bigger factor as you might think, even with the 320D makeing not far off double that of M3 and still loosing.
I know its more about an even spread of torque than peak numbers bt still....

You should never underestimate the predictability of stupidity
M42 Supercharged 285bhp + M3 6speed box
That maybe too close for comfort for them so it will be a Skyline R35 vs Daytona.... Hahahahaswindler wrote:What next? Shock as Seat Leon beats Ferrari Daytona round Croft?
Two worlds apart but the comments will still keep on coming.

I don't have a go at it all the time.
But everyone keeps harping on about it like is the best thing since sliced bread.
No not driven it but I imagine would be a good drive well I hope so given how expensive these are and the praise lavished on these.

Was interesting 320d has more torque and better start presumably because of the higher torque. But once the M3 got in its power band the M3 came good. Albeit close.
The series is pretty fun to watch.
I was expecting the 320d to muller the M3.
Have to say all the older classic cars look more interesting than the modern cars they show on the video

Of course he hasn't, he's a Gutterz boy and is just bitter and twisted that his bruvmobile (he has a 56 plate BMW E46 M3 CS just in case anybody doesn't know !) has tanked five bags since he bought it, never mind how much he has spent on main dealer fitterz action, paedoing and dehumidifying the whole of Chiswick !
Haha Peter come and have a drive in one.
Gutterz has a mixture of people chavs, bruvs, main dealer fitterz, IT people, I don't know all sorts probably like this place. Alot into their modding like most E30 owners (well maybe E30 owners of yesteryear)
Last year's chav mobile is this year's classic don't ya know
That W116 450SEL at the begining looks like better sat there now than it would have done 15 years ago. Talk about proper retro cool... Immense car....
And its a 6.9....

Slightly off topic, there was an article about 2 years ago pitching the E30 M3 against the newer 1M, in which the 1M slaughtered the E30 in acceleration, outright speed, grip, etc, etc. A couple of important things were highlighted in the E30's favour being, the E30 M3 was a car that could be driven on the limit, where as the 1M was wholly undrivable and pretty pointless without electronic assistance. The other point the reviwer made was if he had to choose one of the two for the last drive he would ever have, it would be the E30 M3!

problem is with a 300quid remap it would beat the m3. and i suspect if both were in the hands of a novice it would be quicker in the bends too. things move on. that said i still want an m3 one day. but for what it is, not how fast it isCypriotgeeza wrote:so glad the m3 won, don't know if I could've looked at it the same after getting done by a motorway muncher!
