Smug git, get off this thread!

I've only had my cab a few weeks and so haven't had to clean the hood yet. It's mint at the mo so don't really need to "bring it back to life". Think I'm gonna try the fabric sealant to hopefully keep it looking new winkeye

Well say what you want about AutoGlym stuff but there softop cleaner and protector is very good indeed..

i also bought a canvas protector from the local outdoor shop.. it works well too but you gota watch it..when it gets wet and it drips onto the glass its a fooker to get off and produces smears.. maybe i put too much on i dunno, didnt think i was that generous with it TBH..

Though its not designed to come into contact with glass i doubt it..shame really cuz after its rained i can literally blow the water of the canvas..its that good.

I too have a hard top and lucky cause the soft top has holes it in. I thought id read somewhere that its not good to have to stored away all winter with a hard top on that you should infact alternate every few weeks to keep the softtop in good condition is this right?

I am only asking cause of when i get a new hood for mine.

Cheers

Having bought a Cab. three weeks ago, I too have been looking for the right product.

I am going to try the Autoglym kit as recommended by some of you and by Tylerma.

What gets me though is the bird sh*t  When you come back to your car it's damned near dry and a bugger to get off. I've got a blue roof and it just stains.

As I said, get Impregnating agent from BMW! Sumit like £7. It makes you hood waterproof and birdpoo proof. Ask Kam-325i, he saw my roof and its like a tent.

Hi

I heard mixed reviews on the autoglym stuff so bought some recolourer and waterproofer from www.renovointernational.com.
So far weather has only allowed the reconditioner to go on but it looks good after it has dried and I have some left over. They do window polish to clear the dreaded rear window fog too and were very helpful and polite. (No I don't work for them - just in this day and age it was nice to get proper customer service!)

Its eaiser to buy a new window mate as the fog is normally the chemicials in the plastic breaking down through all the folding

Meguiars make a window polish. I couldn't see sh*t out of mine, now it's clear as. Might try that BMW impregnate stuff though, but I bet its' not 7 quid or so here.

It helped a good bit but the hard grime/mildue had to be scrubbed of with a pan scrubber....it was that hard! A good chunk of the haze has gone as well but the window is still looking tierd.

As for the hood, I got the autoglym cleaner/protector. The hood has gone from faded blue with brown patches to a solid dark blue, unreal results! Cant wait till it rains to see if it will be drivable through winter?!
