could be
. a blockage in the sculltle pannel causing a overflow behind the bulkhead

. the "elephant trunking in the engine bay is blocked up and causing an overflow

. the front window has a leak and is dripping in

. under th e car, in the flooor pan , the drain plugs are lettin in water as u drive in the we or use an under car wash program at the local garage

. there is a pipe/ cable that runs from the brakes, up through the inner wheel arch and is sealed with a rubber bung, if this is old or worn/ cracked it could leak into the foot well from underthe carpets

. rubber seal nearest to the windscreen is lettin in water

. rusted arches

and a few more i cant think of

all good bruvsy

and i just realised im giving you advice on a touring , not a saloon,

if your gettin water in the two "wells" either side of the boot, then check behind the "boomerangs" thopse are the bommerang shaped bits of trim that hug round the raer quart windows

if you tug them out, from top tio bottom, carefully but yu have to give em a bit, have a look for blockage

also if u have a sunroof, there are also drains for them too
but i dont have one so i cant help there

best thing to do, get a big torch and a hose, then take out as much trim as possible form inside and water the car untill u see the leak,

i remember someone saying they got in the boot of theres looking for leaks, so ...

Two missing from that list.
If you've got a sunroof, then the front drain pipes drain into the front cills, and if the long slots at the bottom of the cills aren't clear, then they overflow into the car ( corroding out your central locking module along the way).
Immediately below the bases of the front seats, (look from underneath the car), there are two round metal plates which twist into place with three metal lugs. These come loose/ rust out.

I've got the same problem with my 325. I managed to trace the problem to the rear passenger window. If you remove the back seat (the bottom of mine was soaked) then the water runs down the back behind the seat, collects in the well at the bottom and then overflows into the front passenger footwell.
Haven't got round to fixing it yet but should be straightforward.

I had a leak in the boot, just turned out to be a bad seal for the aerial... easily fixed!

Sorry to revive a dead thread, but at least it shows that "search" works"!

I am getting water in the n/s pocket in the boot of my touring, I am guessing the boomrang part is the most likely culprit, but there is no sign of any damp other than in that pocket, and when I washed it the other day it gained around 1/2 and inch in there!

As the car was facing downhill when I washed it, it is unlikely to be the rear sunroof drain hoses, and the hose on the n/s seems to be securely in place. The washer bottle is full, so it isn't that.

Someone suggested the lamp seals, is this likely?

Someone else suggested that there was a drain hole somewhere in that cubby, where abouts is it?

Thanks guys!

Sprinkle some talcum powder around and wash it again.
Drain hole is near the front of the pocket well and is formed by a small fold in one half of a join in the panels. Usually totally covered in sealant.

Thanks, checked that earlier, and the level hasn't gone down enough to explain the amount of water.
