Howdy.

I got an early motronic 1.0, which has a throttle position switch. i.e. it indicates when my foot is off throttle completly and when my foot is planted firmly on the follor but nothing between.

I'm fitting megasquirt and I'd like to retain some backward-compability.

to make long story short... can I drive my car (with motronic ECU... i.e. stock) without throttle position switch ? I'm not intending to go to the race-track like this... just normal economical (read slowish) commute ?

You could run with out it, you would need to make the ECU think the TPS is not on WOT or IDLE.

This will cause a problem with the idling of the engine, as the idle is controlled by the ECU and TPS.
