I've got a taxed and tested very tidy 325 touring with sequential LPG that owes me -£200 . It's a nice sorted useable car that somebody would like to give £1500 for, unlike yours ! What is the next challenge ?

That's not the point, I have sunk well over £10k into my car but it doesn't mean I'll get half it back.taylorstattoo wrote:really!!!!, id like to see you put one together with 12mot and 6tax for a grand
The point is its a rat car, your target market is misguided youths and as a result their budgets won't stretch far
Cars, especially nodded ones are worth less whole than as parts. To treat your car to a proper finish, even wraps or dips will mean you stand even less chance of getting your money back. Remember, your widest audience of buyers already know that you've destroyed the corrosion protection, then left it parked in a salty corrosive environment. Even if it's bare metalled, primed and top coated (££££), everyone knows the life it's lived...taylorstattoo wrote:really!!!!, id like to see you put one together with 12mot and 6tax for a grand

I like your car and it's possible to find a buyer, but it may take a long time - pyramid principle; specialist buyers at the top and very few in numbers.
The ideal place to find one is going to have to be a specialist site for like minded people for that sort of mod. A place where your hard work will be appreciated.

Right. I like your car, but feel it's saleability will go through the roof with standard paint on.
My perception of going for the rat look is that it's the process to get the car to that state which provides the buzz. You're trying to sell the style without the fun.
If I was in the market for a touring (which I'm not, as I have one) and yours was seriously cheap, I'd entertain it just to piss off the Lexus and X5 driving other parents at my toddlers nursery. Good luck with whatever you decide on.

Just noticed your location. That's 'Run to the Sun' territory isn't it? Park it up there (if it's not happened already) with a for sale sign.

The simple answer is -
To make a car rusty takes several hours with a grinder and some vinegar, brake fluid, piss or whatever, then maybe a couple of quids worth of diesel to stop it rusting more
To make a car look fantastic with exceptionally lovely paintwork takes LOTS of hours and thousands of pounds
Joe blogs is not going to pay paintwork money for rusty metal, end of.
Love it or hate it an engine conversion is always going to be worth more in a nice looking car
