hi i'm halfway though my e30 2.8 m52 track car build and i havent used the e30 clocks as a matter of fact i havent got any of the e30 wiring anymore.
ive got two questions
1.
speed input to ecu
i dont want to use the e30 clocks at all i am using after market gauges [rev, temp, oil pressure, volts ect]
anybody got any ideas how i can get a speed signal to the ecu with out the clocks?
the engine runs and every thing but i have not got the rev counter in yet to no if its going to 7xxx or 5xxx
2.
what pin on the e36 loom's x20 plug would i need to run to my rpm gauge?
thanks..
speed signal m52 2.8

Q1. Pin 15 on the ECU. i was in limp mode cos the speed signal wasn't wired up.
did a loom bypass and pin 15 100%

how did u giv a input to the ecu? from the diff?
i would have thought the signal from the diff would be a AC signal the clocks convert it then pass it on in DC to the ecu.

It is, the signal comes from the clocks. I can sort this for you so you dont need the clocks.
Its nothing to do with Pin 15 either BTW
